IdentityMine is a great design agency on MSFT interactive technologies.  Not only did they create the popular Blendables UI controls, they created and delivered the Silverlight training to prepare several other agencies for the Phizzpop design challenge.

You can imagine my consternation when I visited the offices of such a great partner, and discovered a bunch of their developers and designers using Macintoshes!  In this interview, I try to get to the bottom of things and find out why the heck they are using Macs.

Nathan Dunlap demos how he does his day-to-day work using Vista and Expression Blend on the Mac, talks about his favorite software packages, provides some tips and tricks, and more.  Be sure to watch all the way through for a humorous anecdote about his Macintosh overheating and melting (I'm not kidding).

jeffyjones: There is a version of the video you can download for your video iPod and watch when you are exercising or lounging.  We are all about pragmatism and choice.  The video was created to make life easier for mac owners (I am typing this comment from a mac booted to OS X).  No need to get upset about the people who are irrationally religious.  I just try to have a sense of humor and poke a bit of fun at people who take their "clique" too seriously.

Are there any other topics or technologies in the same vein that you or other commenters would like us to cover?

No I didn't watch the video. I don't have time to watch video.

"Find out why the heck they are using Macs" sets a tone that says, "Why would anyone ever do that?" That's lame. And there's no "paranoia" here. That word doesn't even fit the situation. Do you know what it means?

Platform religion is lame and tired. I don't care if it's for OS X, Linux, Windows, .NET, Java, Ruby or whatever. You use the tools you like that fit the situation.

jeffyjones: Did you watch the video?  Nothing anti-mac about it, just good information to help you use MS developer tools on a mac.  Why not relax and enjoy the fact that MS is providing content that empowers and enables mac users.

Jeffy, I don't think this post is negative at all to MAC. It actually paints a pretty positive story about using a Mac for Silverlight development.

Yes he mentions the battery issue but also how that was resolved in a seemingly very smooth way.

No reason to be paranoid about.

You know, the anti-Mac smugness here is not going to win any fans. Given the diversity of people who go to Mix, perhaps you should tone it down a little. It's embarrassing to those of us who work with MS developer tools every day (and even more so for those of us who do it on a Mac).
