New Build of The Archivist

Jul 28, 2009 By Karsten Januszewski

I just posted a new build of The Archivist (1.0.0.24), our Twitter data mining tool from the Mix Online labs.

I fixed a couple bugs that people have been reporting and also added some new features:

First, it now updates now every 5 minutes instead of every ten minutes -- making it less likely to miss a tweet for topics that are trending.

Second, it minimizes to the system tray.  This makes for a better experience if you are leaving it open for a long time and/or you have multiple instances of The Archivist running.

Third, I've added a new data visualization, which calculates who the most common tweeters are for a search. I used the WPF Chart controls that are now shipping in the WPF Toolkit up on Codeplex.  Here's a screenshot:

Install The Archivist today! (Requires .NET Framework 3.5 SP1.) If you've already installed The Archivist, it will ask you to update to the latest version the next time you run it.

To learn more about The Archivist, read the documentation.

I’d like to save my own tweets. How can I do it?
Thanks in advance,
Angel

this is sweet, very very useful!
